Why a suction pump in your handbag is indispensable
This small tool, which can be easily carried in a woman’s handbag, has frequently proven to be a reliable “lifesaver” after being stung by an insect or bitten by a spider.
Immediate use of the suction pump for bites and stings
It is recommended to use this pump as soon as it is noticed that one has been stung or bitten. Noticing a mosquito sting generally takes a while, due to the amount of numbing agent the mosquito injects. Spider bites (and, of course, stings by bees or wasps), on the other hand, are noticed more quickly.
The proper use of the suction pump
Depending on the size of the wound and the shape of the bite (spider bites leave two wounds, due to the two jaws they bite with, about an inch apart) choose the most appropriate attachment. Place the attachment on the pump, press it against the skin, pull the lever and wait a few minutes. You must determine the waiting time by trial and error. The cap will slowly fill with blood or pus. Once full, stop, empty the cap, rinse with water and repeat if necessary. Should the vacuum drop off, depress the lever again, place the pump back on the skin and pull the lever again.

Prevent long-term itching and pain
The timely and frequent application of this pump can prevent much suffering by removing the injected toxins, reducing pain and itching. However, this is not the only benefit. The substances produced by the body in response to the toxin must also be removed. This reaction can last for days and lead to long-term itching without treatment. By scratching the wound open again and sucking it out, clotted blood and other unpleasant substances can be removed. After the last suction, it is recommended to rub a little disinfectant ointment into the wound.
Additional uses and precautions.
Officially, this device is for sucking out poison from stinging sites of insects, scorpions or jellyfish, but it can also be used on wounds from some stinging plants. Avoid use on sensitive areas such as eyelids and genitals.
When to consult a doctor
In case of severe reactions not previously observed, it is wise to consult a doctor. You never know.

Pump maintenance
If blood should ever get into the pump itself, you can suck the entire pump a few times with water and then empty it again. If necessary, press and pull the lever a few times during the next use. After that, it will just keep doing it again.
